MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The New York Jazz Film Festival, now in its third season, provides
a unique platform for jazz musician-actors, directors and writers
pursuing content related to jazz, to have their work seen.

Beginning this year in 2018, the festival will be conducted online
with a reception-red carpet-award event held in New York City.

NOTE: We particularly encourage the submission of narrative
works which feature jazz musicians as actors.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
NYJFF was developed by former Duke Ellington Orchestra and
Art Blakey trombonist Gregory Charles Royal--who as Artistic
Director of American Youth Symphony has been at the fore of a
movement to integrate musicians into theatre, television and film
as actors.

The festival, now conducted online celebrates the selections with
a reception-red carpet-award event in Harlem, a once historic and
burgeoning jazz scene that has all but disappeared.

For this festival, we encourage jazz musicians and film makers
with an interest in jazz to take a bold step by creating and
submitting works to further expand the reach of this art form in
21st century media.

NOTE: We particularly encourage the submission of narrative
works which feature jazz musicians as actors.

ORGANIZERS
Clarence Seay (Programming Committee); Geraldine Seay
(Programming Committee); Gregory Charles Royal (Festival
Registrar)
